If you are deciding on a hosting account, you may be torn between either "Linux or Windows?" Fortunately, there is not much of a difference between them and either type of account works for most customers depending on what you need hosted. To make sure you do get the right type of hosting account, you should choose the type of hosting account you want based on how you are building your site.
For example, if you are looking at hosting a Wordpress site, or other Web Apps, a Linux server is the way to go. The same applies for Dreamweaver or other WYSIWYG apps along with PHP, MySQL, CGI, Python, or Perl.
For suitable Windows hosting, ASP, ASP.NET, MS SQL is what you should host on a suitable windows hosting. What does this all mean?
It is important to note that these are just our recommendations. Although Windows accounts will be able to support most of these development tools, we prefer Linux accounts overall.
